About A Night Out

Creating Unforgettable Experiences

“A Night Out” is a social gathering designed for teens with special needs and their peers to get together in a fun and welcoming environment. These events create opportunities for teens who may often feel isolated to connect with other teens, build friendships, and enjoy meaningful social experiences in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Emmy Feldman is a junior at Livingston High School in Livingston, NJ. Emmy founded “A Night Out” because she enjoys spending time with her friends outside of school, and realized that many students her age with differences that she's volunteered with at the Friendship Circle do not have the same social opportunities. Through her program, Emmy loves spending "A Night Out" with teens with special needs. She also likes to spend her time taking long walks, trying new restaurants, playing with her two dogs, and volunteering at non-profits in NJ. She especially enjoys her work at Friendship Circle, where she volunteers with kids who have special needs. Emmy in this photo is enjoying watching a participant flip bottles at "A Night Out".

Joyful Social Engagement

We want to create uplifting social events that allow teens with special needs, who often feel isolated, to find joy through socializing. At our gatherings, we'd like to create the opportunity for teens with special needs to feel engaged, confident and connected.

Creating Social Inclusivity

Our mission is to create inclusive experiences for teens with special needs that bring everyone together in one social space. Through A Night Out's shared activities, we aim to build friendships, and understanding in an inclusive setting.
